Description

A Private Sitter provides non-medical companionship, supervision, and basic assistance to individuals who need support at home or in a healthcare facility. The primary role is to ensure the client's safety, comfort, and well-being while assisting with light household tasks, meal preparation, and emotional support.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving, private sitting, or a related role is preferred.
  • Compassionate and patient with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Basic understanding of elderly care needs and safety precautions.
  • Ability to perform light household duties and meal preparation.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and family members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and supervision to clients, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying rooms, doing laundry, and organizing personal belongings.
  • Prepare light meals and snacks based on the client’s dietary needs.
  • Offer medication reminders (but do not administer medications).
  • Assist with mobility support, such as walking or repositioning to prevent discomfort.
  • Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or social activities (if required).
  • Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition to family members or healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities such as conversation, reading, or hobbies.
  • Follow client-specific care plans and maintain confidentiality of personal and medical information.
